Stockton, CA — The International Longshore and Warehouse Union Local 54 has endorsed Democratic candidate Susan Talamantes Eggman for State Assembly.

Eggman, a two-term member of Stockton's city council, is running for the newly-drawn Assembly District 13, which comprises Stockton, Tracy and Mountain House.

In a joint statement, ILWU Local 54 President Marc Cuevas and Secretary/Treasurer Stephen Griffen, also a port commissioner, said that Eggman "has demonstrated her understanding of the importance of the Port of Stockton to the prosperity of the region, and to working families across the county."

In their endorsement, the local also praised Eggman for her openness and availability to the public.

"She is the right person to be our advocate in Sacramento," Cuevas said.

ILWU Local 54 joins a growing list of endorsements for Eggman's run, including Rep. Jerry McNerney, Assemblywoman Cathleen Galgiani, Assemblywoman Alyson Huber and State Senator Lois Wolk.
