Sierra Club California has endorsed Susan Talamantes Eggman in her campaign for re-election to the State Assembly.
Eggman, D-Stockton, has served four years as the representative of Assembly District 13, which includes Stockton, Tracy, Mountain House and Thornton. Last year, Eggman authored legislation to provide about $1 billion over 10 years to help lower-income Californians take advantage of solar technology. The bill, AB 693, was among a trio of bills the Sierra Club said signaled signal California’s commitment to cutting pollution and transitioning rapidly to clean energy.
“All of our climate change efforts are incredibly laudable, but if we can’t provide access to this new green world to everyone, then I don’t think we’ve really achieved our goal,” Eggman said of her bill.
This year Eggman introduced a bill to force public vote on the governor’s plan to divert water from the Delta through two massive underground tunnels.
