STOCKTON -- The United Farm Workers have endorsed Susan Talamantes Eggman for state assembly.
Eggman, a member of Stockton's city council, is also president of the board of El Concilio, which provides a variety of services and outreach to the Spanish-speaking community.
"Susan's support for the farm worker movement is admirable and we are proud to endorse her candidacy. We look forward to future collaboration on improving the lives of farm workers and all Latinos throughout the United States," UFW Deputy Political Director Victoria Cepeida-Mojarro said.
Eggman said she was honored by the UFW's endorsement.
The UFW's endorsement joins those of the State Building and Construction Trades Council of California, the International Longshore and Warehouse Union Local 54, Carpenters Local 152, Rep. Jerry McNerney and labor leader Dolores Huerta, a co-founder of the UFW.
