Teachers groups endorse Eggman for Assembly

Posted on 10/14/2014 by Administrator Account

Two major statewide teachers’ groups have endorsed Assemblymember Susan Talamantes Eggman in her campaign for re-election to the 13th Assembly District.

The California Teachers Association and California Federation of Teachers have both endorsed Eggman, who was an educator herself, teaching social work at California State University, Sacramento, before her election to state office.

The California Federation of Teachers is composed of 135 local unions chartered by the American Federation of Teachers, and represents more than 120,000 educational employees working at every level of the education system in California, from Head Start to the University of California.

The California Teachers Association has more than 325,000 members including teachers, counselors, school librarians, social workers, psychologists, and nurses in the k-12 system, as well as community college faculty, California State University faculty, and education support professionals.

The 13th Assembly District includes the cities of Stockton and Tracy as well as much of western San Joaquin County, including Mountain House and Thornton.
